    Description

    The Benefits Manager develops, implements, administers, and maintains benefits programs, policies, and procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring programs are equitable, meet employee and employer needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective. The Benefits Manager will oversee and manage communications to employees and counsel employees on benefits related issues, including overall Leave of Absence Management. This role will also stay informed of industry changes and new developments to help the business stay current with best practice standards. The Benefits Manager manages the day-to-day performance of a small team.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Manage benefits team by coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees
    • Oversee employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401k plans, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal regulations
    • Partner with third-party carriers in the administration and ongoing monitoring of all leaves of absence (including personal leave, medical leave, FMLA (state and federal))
    • Oversee COBRA administration and ensure compliance with applicable laws
    • Oversee retirement plans and work closely with brokers to ensure plans remain in compliance, including annual 5500 filings, audits, communications, and amendments
    • Oversee UKG benefits module and data audits for data accuracy and system integrity; Review and approve all benefit enrollment transactions aligned to plan guidelines
    • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers and ensure procedures are followed to minimize costs
    • Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including premium self-billing, invoicing, and enrollments, including responding to inquiries, troubleshooting benefit issues, and resolving conflicts
    • Oversee the ADA accommodation process from beginning to end, partnering with the VP Human Resources, Director HR Service Delivery, and legal counsel where applicable
    • Administer ACA processes and procedures
    • Design and execute employee communication tools to improve understanding and awareness of the company's benefits package
    • Develop and coordinate annual new hire and open enrollment guides, rate sheets, and communication materials
    • Participate in plan renewals and implementation of new benefit programs
    • Report benefits-related data and trends to leadership
    • Audit and resolve integration file feeds and troubleshooting

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position might require long hours and weekend work.
