    Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes.

    Selects the most appropriate and cost-effective action plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient s abilities and condition.

    Administers radioactive materials and or contrast agents according to established guidelines. Observes patient and equipment during procedures, documents patient reactions or problems on requisitions and reports immediately to supervisor. Verifies female patient pregnancy status when appropriate. Documents patient and exam occurrences in PACS/RIS to include exam start complete times.

    Ability to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts from the patient and from the medical record which may impact the examination.

    Acquires quantitative and qualitative data t aid physicians in making diagnosis or performing treatment.

    Learns to perform data analysis, assesses techniques, methodology, equipment operation and quality control to insure that information is obtained and presented accurately.

    Monitors staff and work areas to ensure that the levels of radioactive materials are in accordance with regulatory requirements.

    Responsible for maintaining current licensure and certification with the ARRA for this facility thru maintenance of facility records, reports and files.

    Works to reduce the risk of health care acquired infections through compliance with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines. Standard precautions are utilized during patient contact and when handling contaminated materials. Routinely performs daily QA for monitoring the reproducibility and dependability of equipment. Acquires and maintains current knowledge in Nuclear Medicine and CT technology, maintains BLS certification. Keeps abreast of happenings within department by attending staff meetings. Graduate of Nuclear Medicine Technology program

    Current registration and licensure by the AZDHS
    Current registration and licensure by the ARRT
    Nuclear Medicine or Current Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board certification

    Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge in Nuclear Medicine and in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to include knowledge and abilities in basic and complex diagnostic NM and PET procedures.

    Knowledge of Computerized Tomography imaging procedures and technology to include knowledge of specifications, standards, and tolerances for the operation of CT equipment.

    Education preferred from an accredited program for Nuclear Medicine Technology via ARRT or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist via NMTCB.
