    • Houston, TXPosition TypeFull TimeJob CategoryService/MaintenanceDescriptionOur national multi family management company seeks an Entry Level Make Ready Maintenance Technician with a "Whatever it Takes" attitude to be responsible for preparations of vacant apartment homes for move ins and ensuring established standards are met and apartments are converted in a timely manner.
    *Entry level, minimal experience required*JOB SUMMARYResponsibilities include preparation of vacant apartment homes for move-ins and ensuring that established standards are met and apartments are timely turned. When needed, will assist with pool maintenance and grounds keeping.

    Community Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician

    None


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in.

    Review the make-ready board and take direction from the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Manager to determine action to be taken on apartment homes.

    Make all repairs/replacements necessary for unit to be occupied as outlined on the make-ready checklist.
    Apply touch-up and full-paints as needed to interior and exterior of apartment homes.
    Clean out all trash from apartment homes before, during and after make-ready activity.

    Inspect completed apartment homes and schedules any necessary follow-up work before designating the unit as "Ready".REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAININGKNOWLEDGE, SPECIFIC AND ABILITIES.Must be skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user moved aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.

    May be required to handle plumbing repairs, tile work, appliance repair, carpentry repairs, electrical repairs and all facets of apartment make ready.

    Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical or other malfunctions and make repairs or correct problems.
    Must be able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions and plans.
    Will interact with vendors, contractors, Clients and all levels of employees. Therefore, must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
    Must be able to read and write in English in order to read diagrams, meters, instructions, etc.
    Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA Requirements, EEOC.Must supply own tools.
    QualificationsDEGREES AND DIPLOMASHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    TRAINING/CERTIFICATES/ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIPSCertifications as required by State and Local Jurisdictions.
