    Description
    • Monitor supplementary aids and services to students receiving assistive technology
    • Collaborate with instructional staff and model strategies for effective integration and use of assistive technology supports in the general curriculum.
    • Identify assistive technology integration competencies among instructional staff, in collaboration with school administrators, and deliver appropriate coaching, training, and resources to support the professional growth of individuals.
    • Plan and implement direct training to service providers and parents of students receiving assistive technology services.
    • Monitor documentation of assistive technology services and equipment provided to staff and students.
    • Carry and lift assistive technology equipment up to 20 pounds Complete assistive technology observations and evaluations and develop appropriate assistive technology recommendations based on the individual needs of students referred for assistive technology services.
    • Complete case management duties for assistive technology caseload.
    • Participate in professional development activities to maintain a current knowledge in assistive technology.
    • Coordinate with school and technical support staff for timely reporting of equipment needing repair or other support issues, as well as for ensuring the smooth and successful deployment of new assistive technology devices and support peripherals.
    • Assign caseloads and workloads that exhibit efficient use of personnel and resources.
    • Plan, maintain, and be accountable for the assistive technology budget, inventory, and equipment.
    • Plan and implement professional development for direct and indirect staff.
    • Monitor documentation that is accountable, professional for documentation and follows District guidelines for teachers and students.
    • Utilize/monitor assessment and evaluation procedures for AT students to determine appropriate services.
    • Monitor that AT assessment reports are completed in a timely manner.
    • Monitor and collaborate by mentoring and supervising other professionals and paraprofessionals who are involved with the implementation of AT services.
    • Provide consultation to all stakeholders regarding student needs, professional needs, and system needs for the district to achieve established goals and objectives.
    • Monitor the training of educational school staff in use of equipment and monitor appropriate documentation.
    • Participate, when needed, in developing collaborative programs to meet student needs including conferences, parent meetings, ARD committee meetings, and teacher trainings.
    • Participate in personal continuing growth and professional growth activities.
    • Perform all other tasks and duties and assigned
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Special Education (Special Education Endorsement Preferred) previous experience in instructional and/or assistive technology.
    • Valid Texas teacher certificate in Special Education or related field
    • Three years of successful classroom teaching experience
    • Knowledge of assistive technology devices and implementation strategies
    • Knowledge of augmentative communication devices such as programming and implementation
    • Support strategies knowledge of accommodations and modifications for students with special needs to gain access to the general curriculum.
    • Knowledgeable with the ARD process.
    • Demonstrate organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
    • Bilingual preferred
    • Must have access to transportation.
