In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our emergency services, handling incoming cases with grace and agility.     Role: Veterinary Technician - Triage

    Shift: Swing Evening (3pm-11pm)

    Schedule: Rotating, working no more than 50% weekends.

    Relocation Assistance: Eligible

    Shift Differential: Eligible, up to $1,000 depending on region of relocation.

    The Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC) was established over 30 years ago by a group of veterinarians who wanted to provide their clients with quality veterinary care during non-business hours. Today, we employ a wide variety of veterinarians, board-certified specialists, and health care team members, all on-hand for when your pet just isn't feeling like himself. We're proud to be the only locally-owned emergency and specialty hospital for pets in the state of Minnesota.

    At the Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota, we believe in providing exceptional care to our patients and their human companions. As a Veterinary Triage Technician in our clinic, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in performing vitals, providing client education, and communicating effectively. You'll be instrumental in executing medical plans and estimates, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible treatment. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in explaining post-treatment care instructions and medications to our clients, ensuring they have a clear understanding of how to care for their pets at home.

    Are you the Veterinary Technician - Triage we're looking for?

    To succeed in this role as a Veterinary Technician at Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota, you'll need a unique set of skills and abilities. First and foremost, you should have a solid understanding of normal vital ranges for both dogs and cats. This knowledge will help you accurately assess the health status of our patients. Working well under pressure is also essential, as our clinic environment can be fast-paced and unpredictable. Your ability to remain calm and composed in urgent situations will contribute to the overall success of our team.

    Effective communication is key in this role, both with our clients and fellow team members. You should have the ability to convey information professionally and efficiently, ensuring clear understanding for everyone involved. Comfort with utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic treatment sheets is crucial. Being tech-savvy and able to quickly and accurately document patient information will support our commitment to providing the highest level of care. A solid understanding of basic medical procedures, treatments, and medications is required.

    This will enable you to assist our veterinarians in providing the necessary care for our patients. Previous experience in client education (particularly medical-related) is necessary. Your ability to educate and inform our clients about their pet's condition and treatment will empower them to provide the best care at home.
