Job description
Located in Miami's historic Little Havana, Exquisito Chocolates manufactures bean to bar chocolate using sustainably sourced cacao from Latin America and The Caribbean. We can now be found at Whole Foods, Salt & Straw, J. Wakefield Brewery and more. This year we will be expanding into a 3500 square foot production space with improved equipment and a foray into pastry production to offer a full farm to table chocolate experience.
The Chocolate Production Manager is someone that isn't afraid to learn new things as they go along. They understand production projections and scheduling, food safety standards, maintaining high quality standards, and equipment safety. Our culture fosters constant learning and an inclusive and safe environment. The ability to work well with others is highly critical for this position.
Responsibilities
- Meet inventory projections for various products. Must be able to set reasonable production goals and understand resource allocation in order to complete items on time. Must also anticipate process steps needed in order to complete all items to avoid production hiccups.
- Meet with staff to share opportunities for improvement and learn how the company can better support them.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment. Report to founder any equipment related issues in order to not stall production. Make sure employees are working safely from a physical and emotional standpoint.
- We take pride in our quality and think each new batch is a chance to improve on the last. You will make sure that staff properly understands items you need them to produce and that it matches our recipe, standards.
Maintain inventory of all ingredients to properly avoid supply chain issues.
Plan production so that employees can continue to develop new skills along our various production lines.
- Hands on production tasks.
- Other tasks as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
