This role will be a Senior Level MS SQL DBA. The company has over 240 instances and 4000 databases of various sizes/ 3-4 mission critical databases. You will be working as the expert onshore contributor with knowledge in MS SQL. You will be working normal PST hours and working in the Newport Beach CA Office. In this role you will be expected to be able to provide Tier 2 to Tier 3 level support to the team. This is a customer facing position that will require you to interact with c level executives to developers..

Skills:

Strong Communication

5+ years of expertise in MS SQL 2014 and newer

Expert experience in support/ troubleshooting

Understanding of infrastructure components including VMware

Responsibilities:

Implements, maintains, and designs DB2, ORACLE, IMS, SYBASE, SQL Server and other data bases in support of the development and installation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.

Uses available tools and utilities to provide for necessary DBMS maintenance activities: data base reorganizations, backup and recovery, space management, performance and tuning, and change management. Performs system administration and system management functions for DB2 and ORACLE data base systems.

Assists application developers and other clients with data base usage and software development activities.

Ensures that all software or systems for which they are responsible are monitored and tuned to ensure acceptable levels of performance and resource utilization, ensures that the software is utilizing all appropriate functions and features, timely and accurate reporting on performance, utilization and feature use as requested.

Provides project management regarding all technical aspects of implementing projects/major release upgrades for Client's largest, most complex and critical systems which includes: properly following a project life cycle, the development of project plans, completing all appropriate documentation and notifications in order to obtain resolution within the established timeframes.

Provides input to the development of corporate IT standards and policies to ensure compatibility and integration throughout the company. Approve/Manage subcontracting and vendor evaluation studies pertaining to the IT organization, IT Infrastructure and Architectures.
