We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead all aspects of our retail café operations, in-house coffee roasting program, and growing wholesale business. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a small business environment, values craftsmanship, and can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
The General Manager will oversee retail management, production roasting, wholesale account development, team leadership, and overall business performance.
Overview- Create and manage staff schedules, payroll, and labor budgets
- Maintain a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food service regulations
- Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Create menu items and pricing
- Lead and execute the in-house roasting program
- Develop roast profiles and maintain quality control standards
- Maintain roasting equipment and production workspace
- Develop and grow wholesale accounts (cafés, restaurants, offices, retailers)
- Manage P&L responsibilities and meet revenue and margin targets
- Monitor KPIs across retail and wholesale channels
- Develop and implement strategies for growth and operational efficiency
- Support marketing initiatives and community engagement efforts
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of retail management experience (coffee or food & beverage strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in coffee roasting and profile development
- Experience managing or growing a wholesale coffee program
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Solid understanding of inventory management and cost control
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Preferred:
- Experience in specialty coffee sourcing
- Knowledge of espresso equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail analytics
- Business management or hospitality background
