Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry - Department of Psychiatry
The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Mental Health Services and the Department of Psychiatry is seeking to fill an immediate opportunity for a psychiatrist to join the school and provide clinical care for medical learners and trainees.
The primary role of this position will be to provide direct clinical care for trainees within the school of medicine including medical students, IUSM graduate students, residents and fellows.
This will include clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders and will involve the establishment of treatment goals, treatment planning, medication management, and collaboration with the team.
Collaborative work may entail consultation with DMHS team members, other clinical providers, and school stakeholders, including faculty, administrators and staff.
Direct clinical care will be provided for IUSM medical learners across the state of Indiana. A significant proportion of the care will be delivered via televisits. Additional responsibilities include participation in staff meetings and case conferences.This position also has the potential to support programming, outreach, research, and other activities to advance the delivery of mental health services across IU School of Medicine's nine locations.
As a member of the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry, this role may have the opportunity to participate in Department of Psychiatry activities such as committee work and Grand Rounds.
Because this position delivers psychiatric care to IU School of Medicine learners and trainees, this role will not include supervision or teaching responsibilities that involve the evaluation of trainees.

Basic QualificationsDoctorate or terminal degree required. Candidates must possess an M.D.
or D.O., have completed a residency in Psychiatry, be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and be eligible for licensure in the State of Indiana.
Seeking candidates with experience working with university-age students and a multicultural international population; experience in outpatient psychiatry including psychopharmacology, crisis intervention and brief psychotherapeutic intervention for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse and psychotic disorders; experience in peer review, committee work, quality improvement initiatives and electronic medical records.
