    JOB STATUS:
    Full time (40 hours/week)

    LOCATION(S):

    Willmar


    RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Under the supervision of the Human Resource Director and in collaboration with the HR Department, the Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, implementation, administration of the human resources functions including, but not limited to, the following: employment, employee relations, EEO, compliance, retirement plan, union administration, training, and organizational development.


    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

    • Works closely with the Human Resources Director as needed on strategic HR initiatives that may include Performance
    Management, Workforce Planning, Employee Learning and
    Development, Diversity, Compliance, Recruitment, and Compensation-related action items.


    • Oversee and manage all compliance reporting and file maintenance for the agency.
    • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements,
    both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA,
    COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, Social Security
    and DOL requirements.


    • Partners with HR Director to draft, review, update, and communicate human resource
    policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations. Act as subject-matter-expert for internal HR policy interpretation.


    • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment, or
    discrimination.


    • Analyze current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan
    experience, and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company's best
    interest.


    • Manage the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the
    department.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of a four-year college degree in Human Resources Management or related field,
    and a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in management, administration,
    and supervision, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

    • Demonstrated effectiveness in written, oral and interpersonal communications.
    • Awareness of community, economic and cultural issues facing our constituents.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to travel regularly in nine (9) county areas, occasionally out of the area, including
    overnight.


    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Satisfactory background check.
    • Ability to delegate authority and responsibility.
    • Ability to prioritize.
    • Reliable, regular attendance.
