Responsibilities include collecting information about clients physical and mental condition through interviews observation and assessments evaluating clients based on this information counselling guiding clients individually in group sessions assisting them in overcoming dependencies addictions adjusting to life changes problems tolerating stress making changes coordinating with families probation officers police DHS doctors other interested parties exchanging necessary information during the treatment process referring clients family members to community resources as needed acting as client advocate resolving emergency problems crisis situations maintaining up-to-date individual charts on clients confidentiality records related to clients treatments preparing discharging therapy documenting appropriate discharge plans improving professional skills continuing education peer supervision individual supervision participating weekend therapy coverage rotating basis accomplishing tasks appropriately assigned requested displaying positive teamwork attitude identifying resolving problems timely manner gathering analyzing information skillfully inspiring motivating others perform well accepting feedback others promoting quality accuracy thoroughness displaying willingness make decisions exhibiting sound accurate ethical judgment making timely decisions prioritizing planning work activities using time efficiently developing realistic action plans observing safety security procedures using equipment materials properly maintaining confidentiality remaining open others ideas exhibiting willingness try new things speaking clearly persuasively positive negative situations demonstrating one-on-one group presentation skills editing work spelling grammar presenting data effectively reading interpreting written information
