About the role:

This is a key role in defining the user experience for our instruments. The Senior Software Engineer will work with engineering end-user interaction and then propose, design, and write the software that makes the user experience intuitive, efficient, and enriching. The impact of their work is highly visible to the user, and success brings the reward that you created something that delights the customer.

Assignments call for up to 10% domestic and international travel.

About You:

An individual that thrives in a collaborative working environment that flexes your skills as a visualization and user interface developer. You like to think out of the box, propose new ways to interact with the software, and develop elegant solutions.

What you will do:

Develop user interface software that will visualize data and control capital equipment for a variety of industries.
Design, build, and maintain clear, efficient, reusable, and reliable code using C#, XAML/WPF, and other languages as needed.
Identify bottlenecks, bugs and devise solutions to these problems.
Respond to market requirement documents by specifying software architectural requirements, application storyboards, epics, and user stories.
Propose designs and alternatives for internal discussion with key stakeholders and management resulting in functional applications.
Contribute to the development of training material in partnership with technical writers.

What we are looking for:

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
6+ years of professional experience in software development.
Candidate must have experience working with C#, .NET, Azure or equivalent tools as well as knowledge of WPF, gRPC, OpenCV, and OpenGL
Proven experience developing visualization software for data intensive environments factoring in layout, ease-of-use, look-and-feel, and incorporating stakeholder input.
Experience integrating 3rd party libraries and components, particularly in the space of visualization and streamlined user interaction
Demonstrated history of unit testing, static analysis, and delivering quality software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Familiarity with software development for capital equipment a plus.

Track and communicate issues related to instrument operations (bugs) and performance back to senior management and work closely with sales to communicate updates to the customer as needed.
