    The University of Oklahoma is seeking a passionate video broadcast engineer to provide engineering & technical support for Oklahoma Athletics as the Associate Director of Broadcast Engineering. This position serves as the first level of attention for all SoonerVision operations including broadcast, big screen and studio show productions. Working closely with the Director of Engineering, the position will take the primary lead and responsibility for setting venues and control rooms with necessary video and audio compliments, testing, and providing live event support for all student, full-time and freelance crew. Any issues that are identified that the Associate Director of Broadcast Engineering cannot solve should be relayed to the Director of Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a passion for training and mentoring students, staff & others in the field of broadcast engineering, as development of personnel is vital to the sustainability of the department. This position will take the lead in providing training sessions in all areas including but not limited to cameras, audio, replay, switchers, graphics, fiber and cabling. In addition to supporting the needs of the Director of Engineering and Field Engineer, this position will also assist the Coordinating Producer in organizational operations including gear reconciliation, storage facility and archive management, studio sets, and other duties as assigned.Essential Functions:

    Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

    Job Location
    Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Marketing, Journalism or related field; AND
      24 months of industry experience in broadcasting or video production.
    Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experienceSkills:
    • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment that often requires irregular hours, nights, weekends and travel
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communications skills
    • Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate and work effectively with diverse constituents
    • Detail-oriented for accuracy of information, data, grammar and brand standards
    • Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules, regulations, and compliance
    • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
    Advertised Physical Requirements:
    • Be able to sit and look at a computer for prolonged periods and engage in repetitive motion.
    • Must be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds (video equipment is constantly moved).
    • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
    • Requires work during non-business hours.
    Certifications:
    • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.
    Departmental Preferences:
    • 4+ years of industry experience in broadcast industry or functional equivalent as a student-worker, part-time or full-time capacity.
    • Previous experience working in a college or professional sports environment.
    • Strong initiative, goal-oriented and self-motivated.
    • Working knowledge of university, conference and NCAA rules.
