- Plan, organize, and lead laboratory services in the designated specialty to meet requirements of all accrediting agencies including CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission.
- Performs routine histology procedures including receipt, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and preparation of routine and special stains.
- Assure orientation, training, and competency assessment of personnel.
- Assure quality control, proficiency, and equipment maintenance according to requirements.
- Assure turnaround times are met according to lab policy.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Medical Director of the Laboratory delegates the performance of the following duties for moderate and high complexity testing. These duties are to be performed with no direct supervision. Direct review of the work is not required prior to reporting patient test results.
