We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a municipality in Garden City, NY. This is a contract position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The role involves managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate records in a structured government environment.

Responsibilities:

Process payroll accurately and efficiently using AccuData software.
Review employee time and attendance records to ensure data integrity.
Maintain and update payroll records while adhering to established procedures.
Assist in preparing payroll-related reports and documentation.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Support the payroll department with administrative tasks as needed.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Adapt to structured government processes and policies.
Cross-train to facilitate a smooth transition of responsibilities
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll management.
Proficiency in full-cycle payroll processing.
Experience with multi-state payroll systems.
Familiarity with AccuData software.
Ability to handle payroll for over 500 employees.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Knowledge of payroll compliance regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
