Description

Prepares patients for Mammography or radiologic procedures.
Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.

Obtains Mammography images/X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves preparing and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients and includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area.

Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis. Adjusts/sets radiographic controls.
Positions patients and takes Mammography/X-rays of indicated anatomical region as ordered by Physician.
Inspects X-rays for clarity of image, retaking when necessary.
Distributes images for Physician review.
Maintains required records including patient records, daily log books, and monthly reports.

Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure Mammography equipment/X-ray unit meet standard requirements as issued by law and departmental policies.

Complies with all safety measures.
Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
Maintains radiographic supplies, and places orders as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Must hold current registration with ARRT / certification in Mammography preferred (see below)Registered/Licensed in KentuckyMust have excellent patient care skills with ability to multi-taskFamiliar with electronic medical records1-2 years + work-related experience within field of Mammography highly preferred but Applicants with qualifying Radiography credentials willing to train in Mammography will be considered.

As expected with all healthcare positions, must adhere to HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN regulations and maintain annual required workplace trainings.
