We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Entry Operator - Per Diem, Days - Clinical Labs-Procure,Dist,Adm - Per Diem - Monday - Friday w.In this role the successful candidate under direct supervision prepares specimens for analysis performs recordkeeping data entry and collection activities relating to patient specimens for diagnostic and treatment purposes using automated and/or manual systems
Performing related work Performs clerical and support activities necessary to assist in laboratory operations and all areas of specimen receipt registration Assists medical nursing administrative staff to meet unit department institutional goals
- Verifies identification of patient specimens requests for tests.
- Prepare accession sample send out testing various locations Report critical values medical staff Sorts specimens appropriate labeling identification distribution designated laboratories testing Performs pertinent data entry retrieval functions automated manual systems Centrifuges decants specimens Maintains laboratory records accordance established procedures protocols generation separation sorting distribution reports Maintains inventory laboratory supplies distributes supplies Follows laboratory safety policies use personal protective equipment maintains clean safe environment Functions performed may include but are not limited to accessioning manual electronic requisition presort pickup delivery processed specimens Notifies personnel unacceptable samples ie mislabeled unlabeled discrepant information records specific information appropriate department incident log Prioritizes work efficient manner Registers acquire billing account numbers date service Accessions pathology specimens acquire appropriate laboratory accession case numbers timely accurate manner Resolves problems specimen receipt appropriateness test requisitions orders Accurately monitors pertinent patient demographics lab test results designated department ie RN Manager Designee Adheres laboratory Quality Assurance policies procedures follows OSHA regulations PPE lab coats gloves protective shields contact blood body fluids Documents via log specimen receipt issues hospital laboratory computer systems registration accessioning Performs other duties assigned Accessing samples areas lab send outs Report critical values nurses/providers medical staff
