- Assist in health care activities as directed
- Translates accurately for students or parents who speak Spanish
- Assists the School Nurse in mandated screenings and related tasks, i.e., recording results, sending appropriate notifications to parents/guardians, etc.
- Weighs and measures students and completes measurement graphs
- Provides first aid care to students with minor injuries
- Reports all illnesses and injuries to the School Nurse for professional review, care, and/or follow-up
- Contacts parents of ill or injured children
- Greets and screens office visitors and answers phone
- Records health information i.e. results of various screening tests, immunization facts, etc.
- Maintains a current master file of student health emergency information
- Sends health related notices to parents; sends information requests, tabulate returns and follow up on non-respondents
- Provides on-going communication to the School Nurse regarding the status of health notices
- Use office software to perform record keeping tasks and to perform clerical functions
- Maintains certifications in CPR and First Aid
- Maintains confidentiality of students and staff
- Minimum High school diploma or its equivalent
Bilingual - fluent in English/Spanish - verbal and written
Certification in CPR and First Aid - preferred
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
Demonstrated technology capabilities
Understanding and capability of maintaining confidentiality in health information - Completed Chelsea Public Schools application and CORI Form

Statement of Duties:
Under the supervision of the School Nurse, assists in performing non- professional aspects of the school health program as determined by the Manager of Health Services/School Nurse. Aids in the health care needs of students and staff, translates for the School Nurse and other School officials for the student or parent of student in relaying health
related statements.
Job Responsibilities:
