    Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $28.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

    This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 65 Moore Dr, Durham, NC

    The NC FAST Budget Analyst duties will include: preparing budget-related documents, spreadsheets, and deliverables as requested by NC FAST program management. Monitoring program budget and expenditures, and budget-related federal and state legislative reporting, Receive, review, provide NCFS coding for payment, obtain management approval, and submit to ITD for payment. Post invoices to contract logs, Vendors' contracts received, and review NCFS weekly and mark invoices paid as needed.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

    • Intermediate knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and governmental budgeting and accounting.
    • Intermediate knowledge of fiscal and operational policy of state government.
    • Basic knowledge of the financial structure, accounting system, and financial procedures of the State of North Carolina.
    • Ability to organize and present clearly oral and written reports of findings and recommendations.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinate personnel, agency officials, legislators, and the general public.
    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
