Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in conducting diagnostic radiographic procedures according to Radiologist protocols, ensuring patient safety and care. In addition to performing general imaging, which may include specialty imaging such as Orthopedics, the role involves positioning imaging equipment, conducting phlebotomy, basic lab testing, and maintaining patient data within the electronic medical record system. Adhering to strict quality control standards, the Radiology Tech utilizes radiation safety measures to comply with regulations for the well-being of patients and staff.

What You Will Do

• Perform general imaging, including specialty imaging like Orthopedics
• Position imaging equipment and adjust techniques based on patient body habitus
• Conduct phlebotomy and basic lab testing as per provider orders
• Record, process, and maintain patient data in electronic medical records
• Ensure diagnostic image quality following Radiologist protocols
• Prioritize patient safety through radiation protection measures
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and address queries

Education Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program in Radiological Technology Required

Experience Qualifications

• 1-3 years of clinical experience in diagnostic radiology Preferred
• Less than 1 year of experience in phlebotomy and basic lab testing Preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in medical equipment and instruments for patient care
• Knowledge of safety precautions for a secure work environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Efficient problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with EMR systems and office equipment

Licenses and Certifications

• ARRT Certification Required
• Radiographer License from WI State Required
• CPR/Basic Life Support certification Upon Hire Required

Physical Demands

• Sit, Stand, and Walk frequently
• Lift/Carry objects of varying weights occasionally
• Perform bending, twisting, and reaching motions as needed

Working Conditions

• Exposure to noise and occasional hazards

Hearing Requirements

• Ability to hear whispers at different distances constantly

Vision Requirements

• Color discrimination and near/distance vision constantly
