Our Financial Services client is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented individual to join their team as anAssociate Director of SEC Reporting .
This individual will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting including developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, supervising a team of people with responsibility for managing processes to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year- end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
The role includes regular interaction with senior levels of management throughout the organization on accounting practices and policies.The
Associate Director of SEC Reporting
role is a client direct hire position.
Associate Director of SEC Reporting Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting:
Lead the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including Form 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial statements and disclosures to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Technical Accounting:
Stay updated on new accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting. Provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Team Leadership:
Supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, legal counsel, and senior management, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and enhance financial reporting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Associate Director of SEC Reporting Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA license required.
12-15 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
4+ years of leadership experience.
Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations, with experience in SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
Experience in the financial services industry required.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access.
Proven ability to relay complicated information in a simple manner.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
