- Maintains security of court buildings and grounds.
- Screens citizens entering the court and their personal items for weapons, contraband, or otherwise suspicious items not allowed in the court.
- Monitors individuals in the courtroom when court is in session.
- Arrests persons on outstanding warrants or order of the court.
- Receives and reviews reports of law violations occurring on court property.
- Tends to juries.
- Attends POST continuing education as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Under general supervision, provides general security for the court and staff; maintains vigilance in courtrooms and hallways; attempts to defuse or prevent confrontations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a standard office environment and involves sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking, bending reaching, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Most possess a Missouri State Class A POST certification. Depending on area of assignment, a valid Driver's License, Notary Public License, and/or other specialized certifications may be required.
