    Position: Licensed Practical Nurse - Addiction Medicine Clinic - Revised

    We are on the lookout for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Addiction Medicine Clinic. This role is full-time with perks, spanning 80 hours per pay period, covering day/evening shifts, and rotating weekends.

    Upon joining this clinic, individuals must sign a statement confirming their freedom from substance use problems for the previous 2 years.

    Utilizing an automated dispensing system, your responsibilities will include accurately administering methadone and other prescribed medications in line with established policies and procedures.

    Following the Hennepin County Medical Center Relationship-Based Care Practice Model, as a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will support care delivery under provider or registered nurse supervision and execute nursing tasks within the scope of LPN practice.


    Responsibilities:

    • Carry out assigned clinical tasks under provider or registered nurse guidance, such as medication administration and dispensing
    • Ensure precise and timely dispensing of medications, including methadone, adhering to program policies
    • Maintain dispensing records as per DEA regulations and program protocols
    • Contribute to patient assessments and sample collection as required
    • Gather patient data and medical history, chart vital signs, and conduct basic patient care activities
    • Provide patient education, transcribe orders, and assist with medical records review
    • Uphold a safe environment, manage equipment and supplies, and sustain clinical competence
    • Foster positive relationships with patients, families, team members, and medical personnel
    • Undertake additional assigned duties only when appropriately trained

    Qualifications - Revised 12/13/23



    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Completion of an approved practical nursing course
    • Possession of a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
    • Current CPR certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in mental health
    • Solid nursing skills and a focus on safe patient care delivery
    • Key attributes include attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and effective communication skills
