    Director of Quality and Compliance


    About the Role

    A strong produce company seeks an experienced food safety, quality, and compliance professional to fill the Director role. As a key member of the team, you will oversee technical services activities, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, managing product support, and maintaining quality assurance standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Sales & Marketing, to ensure alignment with quality objectives and specifications.
    • Communicate information to management levels during the development of improvement programs.
    • Align technical activities with the company's long-term goals and market trends.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to drive technical initiatives and improvements.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and support professional development.
    • Develop and implement training programs for employees to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest industry standards and technologies.
    • Serve as a key leader during crisis management, directing cross-functional response teams to evaluate and determine corrective action.
    • Oversee the QA department and ensure daily QA support at sheds, reviewing rejections with shed teams.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance technical services efficiency and effectiveness.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in agriculture business or a related field.
    • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in QA, Food Safety, and compliance-related jobs within the produce industry.
    • Demonstrated capacity to work well with others, strong organizational and communication skills, and a service-focused attitude.
    • Current knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, CDFA, FSMA, etc.).
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

    Salary Range

    $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
