    Position Overview

    We are seeking

    4 Sterile Processing Technicians (Medical Supply Technicians – SPS)

    to support the Sterile Processing Services (SPS) department at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX.
    Technicians will support minimally invasive surgical (MIS) procedures and reprocess instrumentation for:
    Main Operating Room
    Urology Clinic
    ENT Clinic
    Speech Pathology
    Anesthesia
    Cardiology Cath Lab
    Pulmonary Bronchoscopy Lab
    All services must be performed onsite.

    Key Responsibilities

    Decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments
    Reprocessing of MIS instrumentation and peel packs
    High-Level Disinfection (HLD) processing
    Support approximately 55,000 sterilization cycles (estimated volume)
    Adhere to all federal, VA, and regulatory compliance standards
    Follow SPS department protocols and documentation procedures
    Work Schedule

    Up to 40 hours per week (Sunday–Saturday).

    Available shifts include:
    7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

    8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

    9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

    9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

    10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

    12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

    1:30 PM – 10:00 PM

    3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

    12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
