Job Focus:
To assist the Director of Instructional Services with the management aspects of mentoring and training of Certified and Classified Staff and Personnel functions.
Line of Supervision:
Responsible to and evaluated by the Director of Instructional Services
Duties and Responsibilities:
Certified Teacher Professional Learning and Support Develop and Implement Instructional Support program "Traditions" for certified teachers: Duties include: Implementing Initial Orientation program: conduct informal observations and conferences with teachers based aligned with PERA; recommend instructional/SEL supports.
Administer New Teacher Mentoring Program Duties include:Monitoring teacher progress during program; recruit and meet with mentors; conduct informal observations and conference with teacher to recommend instructional/SEL supports.
Attend out of district mentoring meetings hosted by partner organizations.Substitute Teacher Management Create substitute orientation and professional develop to support student learning. Conduct regular observations on Long Term substitutes and make recommendations regarding instructional supports.
Evaluate certified teachers when directed.
Monitor and Maintain Certified and Non-Certified Staff Evaluation System Provide professional development to administrators on implementation of PERA evaluation system.
Ensures PERA evaluation system is implemented with fidelity.Manage employee recruitment, selection, onboarding and exit procedures.
Verifies salary and lane placement and tuition reimbursement of staff.
Administers and maintains appropriate personnel records, including but not limited to evaluations, for all staff including statistical to Illinois State Board of Education and local school board.
Manage employee leaves and investigations.Serves as records custodian.
Act as the representative of District 168, to any hearing held by a state agency on an unemployment claim filed against the District.
Guards the confidentiality of all information placed in charge of his office. Breach of this trust shall be grounds for dismissal.Performs such other duties as requested by the Principal, which are within the scope of his/her administrative duties.
Performs such other duties as may be requested by the Superintendent of schools.
Minimum Qualifications:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 months (245 days) per year. Salary and other benefits as established by the Board of Education.
