    Job Summary

    Prepares shipments to customers.

    Job Functions

    Perform all duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on quality. Follow Company and departmental procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality. Follow all safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Report any unusual conditions or situations to SetUp Person or Supervisor.

    Prepare customer shipments by locating and pulling proper parts as called for on packing lists. Package in the proper manner for shipment. Repackage and label smaller quantities.

    Box orders to properly protect parts in transit and to customer specifications. Palletize and band larger shipments. Check to assure accuracy.

    Accurately complete paperwork including: packing lists, bill of lading, air bills, logbooks, labels and various other items.

    Operate personal computer to print barcodes, address labels and other miscellaneous labels, compute amounts for C.O.D. shipments.

    Determine correct carrier to be used for each shipment when necessary. Operate parcel manifest system.

    Answer telephone and do stock checks.

    Load truck with outbound shipments. Operate powered fork truck, powered pallet lifter and other material handling equipment.

    Restock incoming finished goods and adjust inventory level from backstock. Restock supplies and inform supervisor when levels are low.

    Physical and Visual Activities

    Handling, reaching, standing, gripping, fingering, hearing, talking, walking, writing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, far & near visual acuity, depth perception, visual accommodations.

    Physical Demands**:** Individuals are normally required to properly handle, carry move, lift and place piece parts weighing from several ounces up to 12 lbs. each during normal shipping operations. Operations with piece parts weighing in excess of 12 lbs. may also be required on an infrequent basis. Individuals are required to handle, push, pull, move and/or lift boxes, racks, pans or bins of parts weighing up to 55 lbs. manually or by use of lifting/moving equipment such as powered fork lifts and/or powered pallet lifters/movers (if properly licensed), pallet lifters/movers, two-wheel hand dolly, die cart/lifter, carts etc. to and from all parts of the facility.

    Environmental/ Atmospheric Conditions: Normal industrial environment / conditions.

    Knowledge

    Reading, writing and basic math and general computer skills.

    Machine, Tools, Equipment, Software

    Calculator, computer, bander, telephone, powered fork lift, powered pallet lifter, two-wheel hand dolly, die cart/lifter, pallet lifter, weigh scale.

    Other

    Information / Direction: Written and verbal instructions, sales orders, routing guides, charts, directories, telephone inquiries.
