Job Summary
- Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas Operates cleaning equipment e.g. vacuum cleaner carpet cleaner waxer and polisher Empties wastebaskets dusts waxes and polishes room furniture Also washes walls partitions air vents disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls lavatories etc Washes and replaces window treatments cleans ceiling fixtures Changes light bulbs room partitions using ladders scaffolds Moves furniture to clean under behind uses step stool to clean window window treatments cabinet tops mirrors picture frames Cleans bathroom areas including tub tile walls commode floors vanity Cleans kitchen area including stoves ovens microwave refrigerator cabinets floor Washes disinfected dishes utensils cookware Cleans iron ironing board replaces cover as necessary Ensures TVs are clean programmed proper channel volume alarm clocks properly programmed back up battery in-room phones properly cleaned working condition Places proper number of amenities in room include consumables non-consumables Removes re-places bed linen inspects mattresses pull-out sofas Moves repositions beds upon guest checkout weekly or guests request Greets welcomes guests sight maintaining outstanding guest relations Ensures privacy security guests maintained times Cleans vacuums mops corridors stairways guest laundry patios balconies Shampoos rugs carpets polishes rails stairways regular basis Completes scheduled carpet cleaning heavy industrial type carpet cleaners equipment Performs deep cleaning required program standards e.g on scheduled basis check-out pets friendly rooms ADA service animal which includes defrosting refrigerator windows inside out carpet shampoo spot treatment cleansing walls tasks Maintains cleanliness order storage rooms Continually communicates status cleaned rooms spaces supervisor completion daily assignments property management system housekeeping department Accomplishes minor repairs maintenance equipment used reports supervisor when major repair replacement required Cleans inspects exterior spaces parking lots outside passageways May required load unload trucks vans Assists receipt supplies vendors assembly separation storage delivery merchandise opening boxes crates May also required move heavy use hand truck Uses common hand tools hammers pliers box cutters crowbar shears cutting bands Responsible pass key keys assigned Returns all keys end shift Must report immediately supervisor things luggage stay-over guest room service needed room status vacancies extra guests unauthorized pets unusual circumstances Reports lost found items housekeeping supervisor immediately listing room number area where item found May responsible set-up breakdown cleanup complimentary self-service breakfast bar Assists preparing displaying replenishing breakfast items available guests during breakfast hours Ensures surrounding area returned original state free leftover food designated breakfast hour Required obtain proper food handling certifications applicable Completes safety security training Maintains safe environment Applies knowledge blood-borne pathogens safety measures determine potential concerns contaminated linens personal care Follows NEXCOM Hospitality Group NHG protocols daily service activity Performs laundry operations facility May be required possess valid state driver s license travel lodging facilities normal scope duties may require NHG housekeeping certification months employment well certification requirements No Experience Required Performs related duties assigned High School graduate equivalent preferred Physical requirements moderate physical effort moving furniture lightweight powered cleaning equipment Primary Location United States-Virginia-Norfolk Other Locations United States-Virginia-Norfolk Organization NAVSTA Norfolk Schedule Part-time hours Unposting Date Feb 19 2026 PM>
