- In collaboration with school administration, staff, advisory committees, and partners, the Site Coordinator will develop core services to address the academic, enrichment, recreation, leadership, and collaboration with partners to meet the service needs of students and their families. The services must be developed to meet the needs of a culturally diverse school
- Oversee all aspects of extended day collaboration- aligning services of community partners, school-led activities, and MFS activities into one comprehensive model
- Academically align extended day offerings with Oregon State Standards
- Survey and assess community needs and strengths
- Develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with school administration, staff, students, families, and community partners
- Ensure ongoing communication with parents/caregivers is consistently managed
- Coordinate the implementation of family involvement and adult education opportunities that engage a diverse group of parents, guardians, and community members in the school
- Conduct outreach to students and families to inform them of available resources and events and to recruit program participants
- Ensure regular, consistent and ongoing safety protocols are maintained at all times within program and during the after school program
- Assist with linkages to broader community and social service resources that we are not able to provide
- Collaborate with BSD to implement Early Kindergarten Transition Programing (EKT/Kinder Academy) services
- Support healthy student transitions into and out of the school, including summer programs
- Ensure compliance with program and site requirements identified in 21st Century grant, including the establishment of outputs and outcome reporting measures and documentation systems.
- Comply with 21st Century site guidelines and requirements as mandated by the Oregon Department of Education including conference attendance, budgeting, data collection, survey administration, and reporting.
- Recruit, hire, train and supervise a diverse group of staff and volunteers, provide leadership and create a sense of team
- Ensure that part-time CAFE staff remain informed and trained accordingly.
- Create and implement professional development opportunities for support staff complying with MFS and 21st Century training guidelines and partnering with school staff including certified teachers, ELD, and SPED
- Collaborate with the school principal to integrate certified staff within afterschool and evening activities
- Role model positive behavior and create strong connections with individual students and their caregivers
- Supervise full-time AmeriCorps members on site
- Work directly with MFS Human Resources Department regarding hiring, employee performance, and employee relations issues
- Organize, submit and maintain personnel records and documentation as required
- Recruit and coordinate appropriate local community providers to offer their services on-site and maintain those relationships with strong communication and follow-through
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers to gather feedback on what offerings they would like to see and maintain ongoing communication
- Draft partner agreements and memorandums of understanding with community organizations
- Meet regularly with the advisory team, school staff, and community providers
- Stay closely connected with the school staff to best support student and family needs.
- Facilitate relationships between community partners and school staff
- Effectively and consistently market the organization, communicating about MFS and its programs in a way that is both compelling and on message.
- Follow marketing guidelines in place when communicating with staff, volunteers, clients, partners, and potential supporters
- Perform administrative tasks, including organizing and facilitating meetings, developing and coordinating the advisory council, drafting an annual work plan and budget, compiling and disseminating program and MFS information and surveys, data collection and writing and submitting required progress reports
- Attend regular supervision meetings with MFS Program Manager
- Comply with CS Communication Expectations by regularly reading and responding to email and maintaining an up to date calendar, utilizing Google Suite
- Actively participate in all agency and program meetings, training, and retreats
- Comply with Metropolitan Family Service policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee and Supervisory Handbooks

General Description:

Agency Culture:
Under the general supervision of the Regional Program Manager, the Site Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operations, long-term visioning, relationship building, safety alignment, overall communication and program quality of the McKay Elementary CAFE Community School.

Personal transportation allowing for travel within the Portland Metropolitan area in a timely manner. Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment, at community events, and/or at other locations as deemed necessary. May require occasional early morning, weekend, or evening work. Position requires the ability to stand for extended periods as well as sit occasionally. Position requires the use of a computer, telephone, fax machine, copier and may require accessing locations by use of stairs.
