    JOB SUMMARY

    The Clinical Support Resource RN plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentorship to newly graduated nurses or those transitioning to NCH. This role supports all clinical med/surg/telemetry units across both main hospital locations, Baker & North Naples. The Clinical Support Resource Nurse focuses on guiding and educating on the hospital's nursing practice standards, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to accrediting and regulatory agency standards.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform rounds on nursing units to assess patient acuity and intervention needs.
    • Identify nursing educational requirements.
    • Act as a resource for new nurses, raising concerns about nursing skills, patient care, and processes to leadership.
    • Exhibit clinical leadership and decision-making skills as a professional role model.
    • Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process.
    • Develop educational materials for nursing units as necessary.
    • Utilize patient teaching to promote health and safety.
    • Enhance nurse satisfaction and engagement by mentoring and coaching staff in effective communication and teamwork.
    • Assist patient care staff and educate patients and families.
    • Provide clinical expertise for complex patient care situations to healthcare professionals.
    • Attend rapid responses to facilitate education, direction, and coaching.
    • Lead and identify practice improvement opportunities.
    • Demonstrate ethical practice.
    • Maintain current nursing practice knowledge and competence.
    • Integrate evidence-based practice and research findings.
    • Support shared decision-making through active involvement.
    • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
    • Show leadership in the professional practice setting.
    • Plan and provide safe, effective, and cost-efficient nursing services using appropriate resources.
    • Practice in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
    • Participate in the shared decision-making model at NCH Healthcare System.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Florida.
    • Minimum of 2 years of acute care or nurse educator experience.
    • BSN strongly desired.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
    • RN with a passion for teaching and confidence in nursing knowledge and skills.
    • Intermediate computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
