    Job Title: SPED (Special Education) Teacher

    Location: Golden Valley, MN

    Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SPED Teacher to join our team in Golden Valley, MN. As a Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning needs and abilities, providing them with the support and instruction they need to succeed academically and socially. Your role will involve developing and implementing individualized education plans, collaborating with other educators and support staff, and advocating for the needs of students with disabilities.     Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
    • Completion of a teacher preparation program in Special Education

    Certifications:

    • Minnesota Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education
    • Additional certifications or endorsements in specific areas of special education (e.g., autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders) preferred
    • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, incorporating appropriate accommodations and modifications to support their learning needs
    • Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, social skills, and life skills to students with disabilities
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure that students' needs are met in inclusive classroom settings
    • Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote academic growth and achievement
    • Utilize evidence-based teaching practices and assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences for students with disabilities
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes acceptance, understanding, and respect for students with diverse learning needs
    • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on students' progress and solicit feedback on their educational experiences
