- Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by architect.
- Monitor and oversee the construction documentation process including reviewing and approving shop drawings.
- Analyze building codes, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
- Meet with external contacts including clients, contractors, and engineers to identify and resolve problems.
- Meet with internal contacts including designers, production staff, project managers and architect of record to clarify design intent and streamline documentation process.
- Perform site visits at the construction site to confirm compliance with construction documents.
- Review and comment on applications for payment and change order requests.
- Perform code analysis and develop code strategies.
- Mark up and review shop drawings.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- 10 or more years of experience in Architecture required.
- Registered Architect License required.
- NCARB Certification preferred.
- AIA membership preferred.
- LEED AP BD+C accreditation preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Knowledge of office standards and building codes.
- General knowledge of construction.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills.
- Problem solving skills with ability to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions to complex problems.
- Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to lead teams and interact with clients.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Construction site visits occur frequently and may require walking on uneven, rough terrain at times.
- This position may require work outside of typical working hours in order to respond to/address any issues that arise.
- Minimal travel to job sites and client meetings is required.
