    Position Summary

    Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Engineering Co-op.

    The Co-op will be responsible for assisting the Software Engineering team in a wide variety of engineering initiatives and projects in support of the co-op's academic studies.

    In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power's products.

    The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.

    Project Summary

    Plug is seeking to develop an embedded SSH server for use with the TMS570LS1x series of safety microcontrollers (MCUs).

    Work on this project is intended to take place over the Spring and/or Summer semester(s) of 2024.
    Work will be implemented on the TMS570LS12HDK development kit.
    The SSH server will be transport layer independent.
    Potential physical layers include CAN, UART, and Ethernet.
    The desired skill sets for work on this project include:
    Basic understanding of SSH and network encryption methods.
    Basic understanding of embedded system development with C/C++

    Core Duties And Responsibilities

    Participation in daily scrum activities with the Plug Software Engineering team
    Design, develop and implement embedded software solutions for fuel cell systems
    Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power products
    Assist in developing engineering processes with guidance from senior level engineers and management
    Ability to independently set up experiments and monitor progress
    Understand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projects
    Ability to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliability
    Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
    Perform all other duties as assigned

    Education and Qualification

    Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related program
    Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferred
    Must have reliable transportation to the office
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Background/experience with statistical analysis
    Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
    Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
    Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
    Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
    Excellent follow-through
    Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality

    Pay Rate

    $ $26.90
