    Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - Gastroenterology in Petoskey, MI


    Are you a motivated Gastroenterologist seeking a rewarding locum opportunity? McLaren Northern is actively recruiting a skilled GI physician to provide exceptional care in Petoskey, MI.

    This role offers a unique chance to work in a dynamic hospital setting, supporting patient health while enjoying the scenic beauty of Northern Michigan.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Perform outpatient and inpatient endoscopies, including ERCP procedures (mandatory)
    Manage daily outpatient clinics and inpatient scopes, with approximately 18 outpatient and 20 inpatient procedures per day
    Provide consultation services within standard office hours (7 am - 4:30 pm)
    Participate in 24-hour weekend call coverage (no weekday night call)
    Collaborate with a dedicated team of physicians and APPs, providing comprehensive patient care onsite
    Utilize Cerner EMR system for documentation and patient records
    Support lab and X-ray services onsite to facilitate prompt diagnosis and treatment


    Required Skills:
    Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
    Certification in Gastroenterology
    Active medical license in Michigan or ability to obtain one promptly
    Proven experience in performing ERCP procedures
    Proficiency in endoscopic techniques and patient management
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to work independently and efficiently within a hospital environment


    Nice to Have Skills:
    Experience working in hospital-based clinics
    Prior locum or temporary staffing experience
    Knowledge of Cerner EMR or similar electronic health record systems
    Bilingual capabilities are a plus but not required


    Preferred Education and Experience:
    Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology
    Minimum of 3 years clinical experience post-training
    Prior experience performing ERCP strongly preferred


    Other Requirements:
    Availability to start on March 1, 2026
    Commitment to a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4:30 pm, with 24-hour weekend call (4 hours compensated)
    Willingness to adhere to client travel and expense policies; no lodging booked through third-party sites
    Use of DocTime for clock-in/out, with no paper timesheets
    Ability to provide services in a hospital setting, supporting both outpatient and inpatient care
