KINDER-3RD TEACHER
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Villa Bella Expeditionary (VBE) is a newer K-8th District 70 charter school. VBE will use the Expeditionary Learning/professional development and Illustrative Math curriculum. VBE will follow the District 70 calendar but has required professional development at least one Friday a month. VBE seeks energetic, compassionate, hard-working individuals whose educational philosophies align with EL Education.
REPORTS TO: Director
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The teacher has the lead role in the classroom as a learning facilitator, instructor, coach, mentor, and tutor. The teacher provides a personalized learning environment for all students that incorporates collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, technology, and communication around meaningful learning targets based on the Colorado State Standards. The teacher provides a learning environment in which each student's achievement and growth are attained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification: Colorado Educator License
Education: Required – Bachelor Degree
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Complete other duties as assigned, such as mandatory Friday professional development, after-school meetings and activities, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:TECHNICAL: Demonstrate proficiency in applying instructional technology standards for personal productivity and support instruction (productivity and presentation tools and software, multimedia equipment, online learning environments); possess basic organizational skills.
INTERPERSONAL: Strong interpersonal skills, including problem-solving and investigative skills; effective and efficient time/task management skills; proficiency in reading, writing,g and speaking the English language; practical communication skills, including the ability to run effective meetings and facilitating collaboration and communication among groups, reliable and resourceful with a solid work ethic; sensitivity to cultural diversity and acceptance of all students.
