    Rockhurst University and St. Luke's College of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking MSN Adjunct Faculty.

    Overall Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Specific job duties will be outlined in contract, may include clinical and/or didactic teaching responsibilities.
  • Didactic assignment:

  • Faculty may be assigned special projects or educational endeavors.
  • Prepare course outline and syllabus, develop course and lesson plans, and engage in the selection of textbook and other teaching aids necessary to the instruction of courses.
  • Conduct course instruction for one or more courses in the curriculum at the higher education level utilizing diverse teaching strategies.
  • Teach pertinent course subject matter using lectures, demonstrations, class discussions, and other appropriate modes of educational delivery in the face-to- face, online, and/or hybrid environment.
  • Lead and monitor course instruction that promotes educational and learning processes keeping with faculty academic freedom and responsibility.
  • Other duties and assignments as deemed necessary by the Undergraduate Program Director
  • Be available to faculty and students for consultation for questions in your area of expertise.
  • Clinical assignment:

  • Interact with patients in a clinical setting, travel to clinical sites, as applicable.
  • Complete and submit written clinical evaluations for assigned students in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to nursing education accreditation standards, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates with other faculty, and others as indicated, on course implementation.
  • Submits student progress reports to course lead, BSN Program Director, and Advisor, and discusses any student needs that may require directed attention or remediation plans.
  • Adheres to all Saint Luke's College of Nursing and Health Sciences policies and procedures.
  • Completes annual requirements as an employee of SLCNHS.

  • Represents the college locally, regionally, or nationally with professional presentations related to teaching and learning.
  • Maintains clinical competence.
  • Obtains or maintains professional certifications, degrees, and other specialty credentials.
  • Demonstrates effective role modeling of collegiality by working in inter- professional teams.
  • Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing required, doctorate preferred.
  • Significant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing practice as an RN. Must hold current MO RN Licensure.
  • 1-2 years prior teaching experience in higher education preferred.
  • Evidence of commitment to nursing profession, with focus on nursing education.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team in a professional and confidential manner.
