    Description


    Summary You will serve as an Administrative Officer in the Ocean & Atmospheric Science & Tech Division of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

    Responsibilities You will determine resource requirements such as allocations, salary needs, and procurements. You will liaison with various support divisions. You will develop budgetary plans and make modifications to the divisions budget. You will advise managers on disciplinary actions.

    You will act as the focal point for administrative project-related issues, determining resource requirements such as space allocations, salary needs and procurement.

    You will recommend administrative and management goals and objectives. You will devise, initiate, plan, coordinate, direct, and execute the administrative and financial management actions of the Division.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05/10) or pay band (NO-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:1) Developing, managing, and applying policies and procedures related to budget and accounting in a revolving fund environment; 2) Managing procurements, personnel, and equipment control procedures for a division; 3) Evaluating financial management policies and procedures; and 4) Coordinating performance appraisal programs, hiring actions, promotions and awards.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
