Deputy Director - Hinesville, United States - GeorgiaGov
Description
The Georgia Youth Challenge Program (GaYCP) aims to empower Georgia's youth by providing education, leadership, character development, and life-coping skills to help them succeed in society. This voluntary program is designed for at-risk 16-18 year-olds who may not graduate high school. GaYCP offers a supportive environment focused on academic achievement and personal growth.
Modeled after U.S. Army basic training, GaYCP instills discipline, self-control, and motivation in participants. The program emphasizes 8 core components for cadet development: academic excellence, life coping skills, job training, citizenship, leadership, health, fitness, and community service.
Staff members at GaYCP serve as mentors and role models, providing guidance and support to cadets. The program's structured 22-week residential phase is followed by a 12-month Post-Residential Phase, where graduates pursue further education, training, employment, or military service.
