    Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down (Telemetry & Cardiac) | Night Shift | 13-Week Travel Contract – Clyde, NC 28721

    Night shift PCU/Step-Down RN contract in Clyde, North Carolina near Asheville—care for adult cardiac and telemetry patients in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit at a regional medical center. Enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains region with easy access to outdoor recreation, scenic drives, and a vibrant nearby food and arts scene.

    Job Details

    • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840–$1,940 per week
    • Location: Clyde, NC near Asheville; Great Smoky Mountains region)
    • Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down – Cardiac & Telemetry
    • Start Date: 02/02/2026 (additional start dates: 02/16/2026 and 03/02/2026)
    • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (through 05/04/2026)
    • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
    • Hours per Week: 36 hours
    • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
    • Call: None
    • Unit Snapshot: 22 beds; typical ratio 4:1; telemetry monitoring; EHR: Paragon
    • Orientation: Bi-weekly

    Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

    • Experience: 2 years of RN experience with Step-down/ICU experience
    • Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
    • Clinical Skills: Telemetry interpretation, cardiac assessment, management of higher-acuity adult patients, strong clinical judgment
    • Float: Willingness to float as needed based on unit operations
    • Professional Fit: Team-oriented, flexible, and a clear communicator

    Key Responsibilities (PCU / Telemetry RN)

    • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult cardiac and telemetry patients in a PCU/step-down environment
    • Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms; recognize and escalate changes in patient condition promptly
    • Care for common PCU populations including cardiac observation, post–cardiac cath lab patients, and cardioversion patients
    • Administer medications and therapies safely, following facility protocols and evidence-based practice
    • Perform focused assessments, develop and update individualized plans of care, and document accurately in the EHR (Paragon)
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, patient education, and discharge planning
    • Maintain compliance with patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and unit-specific workflows
