- Physicians providing care at select institutions receive an additional 15% Stipend of Base Pay
- Serve as a clinical Subject Matter Expert for complex patient populations
- Develop and update evidence-based guidelines and tools, continuing medical education activities, and clinical policies and procedures related to providing care to patients with complex needs
- Attend and participate in Clinical Team Education Conferences for case-based complex care deliberation and planning
- Provide consultation for complex care needs and coordinate communication with institution leadership to ensure that treatment plans are performed safely, timely, and effectively. Consultation includes diagnosis, formulation of treatment recommendations, ordering tests, patient education, referral to specialists, electronic documentation, and monitoring patient progress and outcome
- Provide clinical management of patients via telemedicine and/or remote oversight of specific patient populations to ensure appropriate, safe, and timely delivery of care
- Travel to CDCR correctional institutions throughout California

Do you have a keen professional interest in disease management, quality improvement, and program development? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking a physician interested in shaping and improving how we deliver quality medical care to clinically complex patients within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations' (CDCR) correctional institutions.
Within CCHCS' Complex Patient Populations division and under the direction of the Deputy Medical Executive for Complex Patient Populations, you will:
A California medical license with DEA is required. Additional subspecialty board certification and/or extensive clinical experience in Pain Management, Palliative Care, Addiction Medicine, Geriatrics, or Hospital Medicine is highly desirable.
