Job summary
This role may include the following typical duties: Determine quantities sizes shapes and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints sketches or oral instructions Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements Space and fasten together rods in forms according to blueprints using wire and pliers Position and secure steel bars rods cables or mesh in concrete forms using pliers rod-bending machines acetylene torches or hand tools Cut rods to required lengths using gas power saw bar cutters or acetylene torches Place blocks under rebar to hold the bars off the deck when reinforcing floors Position safety support equipment Cut metal components for installation Bend steel rods with hand tools rod-bending machines Some travel may be required Inventory materials as required Order of materials as required Cleaning cables to prep stressing procedures Stressing cables with a use of a stressing jack Lifting over 50 pounds bending stooping reaching Standing walking for a long period time Climbing descending ladders working on heights Setting column cages pier cages wall reinforcement Flagging Rigging rebar trained personnel Adhere all FABco safety rules policies Housekeeping
