    Description

    Summary/Objectives

    The Quality Supervisor ensures compliance and supports the administration of the company's quality food safety systems. Maintains the standards set forth by the GFSI auditing scheme and FSMA. This position is responsible to help oversee QA employees and report areas of concerns to the Quality Manager. As with all site personnel, the Quality Supervisor promotes a culture of Regulatory Compliance and Continuous Improvement within the Quality Department and across the company.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports compliance to the Food Safety Plan and documented quality processes and procedures
    • Provides direction, coaching, and mentoring to team personnel to achieve department goals. Supervises the quality personnel who perform the day-to-day implementation of the Food Safety Plan
    • Back up to Quality Technicians for vacations, call ins, etc.
    • Fosters and sustains a culture of continuous improvement, including leading a team of employees in the identification and implementation of changes to systems and processes that result in operation efficiencies and improved customer outcomes
    • Leads and champions the work and communication between functional departments (production, maintenance, sanitation, receiving etc.) to ensure the resolution of issues
    • Maintains the hold and release program
    • Submitting and releasing lab results
    • Reviewing inbound product -Incoming inspection analysis
    • Maintain retain/return program
    • Glass and brittle plastic inspections
    • In-House Inspections
    • Assist with calibration program
    • Assist in, communicating, and training of Quality systems programs and standard operating procedures.
    • Serve as a member on the company's Food Safety Team and/or HACCP Team
    • Roasting Room Checks Ensure accuracy of roasting production by doing analytical and sensory testing on the product
    • Other Duties as assigned by Quality Manager

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to allergens, moving mechanical parts and vibration as well as equipment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Hours would be 4pm-2am. Full time hour schedule is subject to change with or without notice. Mandatory or voluntary overtime may be required to meet business needs.

    Light travel to local warehouses is required for this position

    Education, Skills, and Experience
    • Must have at least 5 years of experience in Food Safety and/or equivalent education
    • Previous experience Quality is helpful but not required
    • Basic knowledge of SQF is helpful but not required
    • Previous experience training new employees is required
    • Previous experience in as a supervisor or similar role is strongly desired
    • 3-5 years' experience in a food production environment ideal
