- Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports.
- Assist in developing facility and equipment specifications.
- Support implementation of facility expansion, layout, installation of various systems, and quality controls.
- Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
- Develop installation plans and optimizing resource allocation.
- Create/update drawings in VISIO
- Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
- Coordinating, overseeing and accomplishing installation of required equipment, cables, computer systems and associated facilities activities.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
- Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
- Install indoor fiber optic cable in large military structures
- Install computers systems and equipment
- Run, terminate, and test low voltage copper cable
- Organizing, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards
- Perform drywall, wood, and concrete masonry firewall penetrations
- Test and troubleshoot a variety of cable types
- Maintain cleanliness and safety on job site
- Determine solutions to any problems and issues that are preventing the Ethernet or fiber optic systems from performing optimally
- Provide support and direction to technician helpers

Installation Engineer - Pensacola, United States - Bowhead
Description
Overview:
Bowhead is seeking an Installation Engineer to be responsible for installation of equipment, providing improvements and recommendations to electronic classrooms and training systems within Government facilities for our Navy customer. The Installation Engineer will be responsible for assessing the facility's resource requirements, designing and optimizing the facility's layout and critical operational systems, and installation of infrastructure and equipment.
The Installation Engineer will develop, interpret and implement Site Surveys, utility plans, perform system/facilities evaluations, and complete the installation of associated equipment. The Installation Engineer will have strong knowledge of structural code requirements.
Responsibilities: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred or additional experience in lieu of degree.
Must be able to travel 70-80 percent of the time. Telecommute during none travel times
At least 3 years of experience as a facilities technician or in a similar role.
Experience with AutoCAD, VISIO and MS Office preferred.
Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Project management skills.
Possess a valid state issued drivers license.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 30 pounds, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines. Must be able to travel 70-80 percent of the time.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain or and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
