The Senior Product Manager at ProdataKey (PDK) is fanatical about customers and is responsible for defining, coordinating, and executing the roadmap for PDK's Access Control software as a service and mobile solutions.
The PDK solution offers partners a range of options to create customized IP-based, cloud-connected solutions that can include door controllers, readers, wireless locks, sensors, I/O interfaces, and more.
In this role, the Product Manager will direct and oversee PDK's software platform used by security integrators to create security solutions for businesses.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the security industry and can create a lovable installation and end-user experience.
The Product Manager will create product requirements, work with user experience and development leads, prioritize tasks, and guide the organization from the early stages of product ideation to product release.
This position requires someone who can articulate a long-term vision while actively participating in the day-to-day execution to turn that vision into a reality.
It is a high-visibility role within the company and involves building effective working relationships across all departments in the organization.
PDK seeks a leader with a strong background and a proven track record to enhance and expand PDK's software as a service solution and the Product Management team.
(30%) Roadmap and Strategy
Develop and communicate a clear product strategy for the software product portfolio that supports the company's objectives.
Able to collaborate at various levels on product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
Create and maintain a product roadmap that reflects market trends and customer demands.
Use market insights to define customer needs and product requirements.
Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the access control and security industry.
(45%) Product Management
Set OKRs/KPIs as part of product planning and monitor and report product performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and design, to drive product development from concept to delivery.
Define and prioritize product features, specifications, and enhancements.
Communicate key messages and business value for customers to all stakeholders through Narrative and FAQ documentation.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers.
Ensure alignment between business goals and product development efforts.
Develop go-to-market strategies, pricing, and positioning for products.
Travel to customer sites and industry conferences as needed.
Stay on top of competitor products and industry trends.
(15%) Product Marketing
Plan and execute successful product launches, coordinating with marketing and sales teams to ensure maximum market impact.
Coordinate all go-to-market efforts to ensure that all departments in the company are trained and ready for new products and features.
(10%) Process Development
Publish and organize all product requirements in a central location.
Collect and publish customer feedback and satisfaction measurement data for continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or Marketing).
Minimum of 5 years of product management experience managing software as a service or solutions, preferably delivering commercial or consumer products in the security industry (access control, alarms, video surveillance).
Proven track record of defining, managing, delivering, and discontinuing products with minimal guidance and a high attention to detail.
Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills - both written and verbal.
Action-oriented, goal-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player. Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
Analytical mindset, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Strong understanding of market dynamics, trends, and customer requirements in the access control and security sector.
Energized by and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Decisive and capable of making decisions with information on hand–or know how to get the information to make decisions.
Understanding of Agile development methodologies, including defining prioritized stories for product designers and engineering (experience using JIRA a plus).
