Description
Our client, a highly successful wine and spirits company dedicated to the creation and development of unique, premium beverage brands, is currently seeking a newly created Director of Business Operations.
Bonus opportunity on top of generous base salary.
This role will serve as the key point of contact for the Companys international business endeavors, supporting the international sales team (and the International Sales Director who leads that team) by performing market and category analysis to help establish sales targets, promotional budgets, set pricing, make hiring recommendations, and develop routetomarket strategies for new products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and recommend sales goals in each of 50+ international markets based on category data, brand trajectory, feedback from local sales team and importer partners. Establish and review pricing based on brand strategy and local value chains. Make recommendations about local headcount based on profitability / breakeven analysis in each international market. Review and approve promotional spending initiatives (both one off and annual budgets) in each market, based on brand strategy and successful initiatives elsewhere. Review product demand forecasts from Supply Chain team and make recommendations based on observed trends, planned market launches, and any other foreseen changes to growth trajectory Review monthly depletion and sales performance and advise ownership and the International Sales Director of markets where sales are above/below goal trajectory Help establish pricing and shelf positioning for new products or line extensions. Compile sales forecasts for periodic reporting to major corporate shareholder and provide insight and commentary. Review and help negotiate compensation and expense packages for new hires on the international sales teamQualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent (Masters in Business Administration a plus) Five or more years of relevant experience in business operations and/or category analysis in the beverage alcohol industry (preferred) or consumer products industry. Working knowledge of relevant industry surveys and databases (Nielsen, IWSR, etc). Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with large, complex data sets Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software Willingness to participate in periodic business planning calls at hours that may not fall within working hours in the U.S. (for example, a business planning meeting taking place in Australia which might be late in the day in a US time zone). Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent presentation skills Strong organizational, problemsolving, and analytical skills Ability to manage priorities and workflow Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committeesCompetencies:
Adult beverage or CPG background.
