We are actively looking for a Senior-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Seattle or Federal Way office. The responsibilities of this position include working with new technologies and developing industries from microgrids to projects in the offshore wind. Preparing multiple or complex plans, designs and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Completes multiple or complex electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates
    • Provides multiple or complex design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to:
    • Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
    • Microgrids to projects in the offshore wind industry
    • Lighting systems
    • Lightning protection systems
    • Grounding systems
    • Communications systems
    • Control Systems
    • Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
    • Electrical calculations, selective coordination and arc flash studies
    • Prepares detailed large contract documents, studies and cost estimates
    • Submittal reviews and construction observations for electrical work on projects
    • Assist in companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; required
    • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering; preferred
    • Professional Engineer License (PE) in Electrical Engineering; required
    • 10+ years of related experience in: required
    • Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
    • Grounding systems
    • Lighting systems
    • Communications systems
    • Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
    • Selective coordination and arc flash studies
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit; required
    • Proficiency in ETAP or EasyPower and AGI32; preferred
    • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST

    Base Salary Range

    • $147,500 to $181,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
    • Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Washington market.

    Physical requirements

    Majority of work is office based. Some site visits to meet with clients, sub consultants, utilities, and other parties to investigate site conditions and meet project requirements. Site visits may also include working around live electrical equipment and systems.
