- Manage sponsored programs (grants and contracts) from award to completion to scope, schedule and budget.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret complex data, and provide technical analysis, financial guidance and projections.
- Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, budgets, and employment agreements.
- Monitor award and project progress and compliance.
- Review and approve invoices, pcard transactions, purchasing orders and other forms of procurement.
- Handle document preparation, reconciliation review and prepare various reports and requests for stakeholders as required.
- Educate faculty/staff on budget management and managing their sponsored program.
- Approve and track grant faculty contracts, AFP and ASP through HR workflow.
- Manage post award administrative staff.
- Oversee/manage post-award process and system process for grants and contracts including agreement oversight; change requests; budget reconciliation; and performance reporting.
- Develop and update post-award policies, procedures, and business practices for SPREE to adhere to university's changing environment and the complex sponsored programs federal funding regulations.
- Oversee the education and training offerings to the University community regarding grants management and compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5+ years of accounting, financial analysis and/or post-award/grant management experience.
- Ability to fulfill scope of multiple projects on time, within budget and with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage large, complex budgets.
- Proficiency in MS Office and sponsored projects budget management software.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse audiences.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Master's Degree
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in higher education/academic setting, specifically sponsored programs administration.
- Experience with large, multi-million dollar grants and federal grants.
- Experience interpreting and applying laws and regulations

Sponsored Programs Manager.
The Sponsored Programs Manager with Sponsored Programs, Research & External Engagement (SPREE) reports directly to the Director of SPREE. This office supports the academic program and external engagement of the University by managing and overseeing university externally funded projects, sponsored programs administration, with direct expenditures totaling over $40M. The office is responsible for managing multi-year complex budgets and implementing the scope of work on time and within budget; pre-award budget development; post-award management education; supervises post award administrative staff. The Manager will serve as the compliance administrator and execute and oversee contracts for professional services, grant agreements, revenue contracts and memoranda of understanding with organizational partners with the SPREE Director, Chief Advancement Officer and Provost.
