Senior Estimator - Commercial Construction

Location - Raleigh, NC

A well-established general contractor in Raleigh, NC, is experiencing exciting growth within their commercial construction division. The team has surpassed $25 million in revenue and is on track to double that figure within the next two years. They specialize in a diverse range of upfit & renovation projects, including:

• Educational facilities (K-12 and Higher Education)
• State and municipal projects
• Pre-engineered metal buildings

To support this current growth trajectory, they are seeking a highly motivated Senior Estimator to join the team. You'll play a leadership role, providing expertise and guidance while collaborating with colleagues to ensure exceptional project estimates.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare comprehensive, accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Manage the estimating process, from project inception to bid submission.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine the scope of work.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to refine project details and costs.
• Negotiate and secure subcontractor bids to achieve the most competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Review and analyze completed projects to identify areas for cost improvement in future estimates.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence in estimating practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver accurate, competitive project estimates.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and labor rates.
• Experience with pre-construction services and project procurement.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor others.
