    Scope of Position

    The storekeeper is responsible for the collection, distribution, repair and cleaning of patient transport equipment within the Medical Center including wheelchairs, electric transport chairs, carts, and electric carts.

    Position Summary

    The storekeeper is responsible for managing all aspects of patient transportation equipment which impact operations and customer satisfaction (internal and external) within designated service areas. Facilitates communication and supports an environment conducive to delivery of high quality service to customers. Responsibilities may include allocating appropriate equipment to designated patient care areas as well as designated hospital lobby and entrance/exit locations and storage areas, routine rounding all assigned building/garage locations on the hospital premises, accepting jobs on an iPod for pick-up or delivery, responding to messages on an iPod, answering assigned Cisco phone whenever called, performing equipment repairs, cleaning equipment, deep cleaning equipment, inspects equipment for safe operating conditions, facilitating in equipment inventories and all maintenance concerns, keeping work areas clean (i.e. changing trash bags, changing linen bags, sweeping, insuring glove and sani-wipe stations are kept neat and orderly), re-stocking gloves and sani-wipes to appropriate designated areas, transports patients via bed, cart, or wheelchair whenever needed to ensure department operations function in a timely manner

    Minimum Qualifications

    For Hire:

    Per Classified Civil Service Requirements; Reading, writing and math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) skills commensurate with job duties required; High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Previous health care or service oriented field experience in an acute health care setting is preferred;

    Ongoing:

    Demonstrated competence to meet essential job functions. Maintains knowledge related to patient care, quality improvement, cost reduction and current policies, procedures and protocols.
