    Description

    Position:: Principal AWS Cloud Developer

    Location:: Durham NC (Hybrid – 5 days onsite in a month)

    *PROJECT OVERVIEW*

    The team is working on an external website – majority of the functionalities are reporting capabilities (Tableau and WebFocus). Need to be out of WebFocus by 2025, which is a major functionality – there is a Batch team that is re-writing those functionalities in house.

    This person will work with the Batch team to write services as well as some front-end exposure/work.

    *REQUIRED SKILLS* (MUST HAVES)

    Someone who has expertise in developing cloud hosted REST services in Java spring boot . Leadership qualities is another area that we need for this role. Angular and deployment of Cloud pipelines can be a plus but not required.

    1) Strong communication, ability to lead a technical development team (must be 100% hands-on, this is not a people manager role)

    2) Java/Spring Boot (developing cloud hosted REST services in current project)

    3) Docker/Kubernetes (must have experience with containerization in current project)

    4) AWS (must have hands-on experience with all major services within AWS - must be using in current project)

    5) CI/CD pipelines : need to have some exposure to building Jenkins pipelines (okay if they're not an expert)

    *NICE TO HAVE*

    Terraform, Angular

    *INTERVIEW SETUP*

    1st round – 60 minutes, 2 developers and Jibi (15 minutes team fit, 45 minutes technical panel)

    2nd round – 30 minutes with SL and SM (behavioral)

    The Expertise and Skills You Have

    A degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related subject area.

    Expert level knowledge in developing cloud-hosted REST services in Java/Spring Boot that integrate seamlessly with multiple UI app tiers (legacy and modern).

    Proven experience with developing and deploying applications to cloud using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS cloud deployment/application management

    8+ years' proven experience in building enterprise web and middle tier application using Java/JEE, Spring Boot, and REST services

    Self-starter and Self-sufficient developer able to work independently under minimum supervision and own the outcome of delivering high value solutions.

    Strong communications and problem-solving skills.

    Experience with unit testing and test automation libraries/strategies.

    Experience with Angular is a plus.

    Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins Core and Terraform.

    Experience using source control and pull requests for collaborative development in code repository tools such as GitHub.

    Develop high quality, maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional business requirements.

    Participate in all facets of the delivery process.
